See you at KeyConf26

I'll be presenting at KeyConf26 in Prague on October 8, 2026 — live demos of the open source projects that modernize Keycloak for frontend developers.

KeyConf26 is the annual one-day conference dedicated to the Keycloak community — and this year I'm on the main stage in Prague.

  • When: Thursday, October 8, 2026 · 9:00–18:00
  • Where: Holiday Inn Prague Na Pankráci, Czech Republic
  • My talk: 16:15–16:45, Main Room - Castle Hall

Beyond the Redirect: Modernizing Keycloak for the TypeScript Era

For years, Keycloak has been the enterprise identity provider — secure, battle-tested, but often disconnected from the modern frontend developer's workflow. New auth libraries promise "easy auth" by running inside your app, but they frequently sacrifice the hardened security of a standalone IAM.

In this session I'll show how we're bridging that gap. The talk covers the new OAuth 2.1 Native App Flow and headless UI patterns that let developers build pixel-perfect, framework-agnostic authentication — without raw passwords or clunky redirects.

And I'll demo the open source projects behind it:

  • keycloak-headless - Lit web components and framework helpers for React, Vue, Svelte, and Solid
  • login-ui-base - Modern login themes with client-side or Qute server-side rendering
  • Backend-for-Frontend - Keycloak BFF extension with secure session cookies

Together, these tools cover the full frontend auth stack while keeping Keycloak's multi-realm isolation, OIDC compliance, and enterprise-grade architecture.

Why you should come

KeyConf26 brings together 100+ attendees, 14 talks across two tracks, and speakers from CERN, IBM, Hitachi, adorsys, and the wider Keycloak maintainer community. Alexander Schwartz is MC'ing, there's a networking lunch, and business drinks to close out the day.

If you're building with Keycloak on the frontend, or wrestling with Freemarker themes and redirect-based flows, this is the room to be in.
